In 1986 SMA established the Research & Education Endowment Fund to provide funds in support of medical students through scholarships and research grants.

Major contributors to the Research & Education Endowment Fund are recognized as members of the Society of 1906.

Today, over one million dollars has been raised to date for the Research & Education Endowment Fund.
