Invitation

Invitation

Please join us in November for the 2004 Burn Conference, the premier educational event of Region IV. The program is designed to meet the educational needs of the multidisciplinary burn team. Whether you are an experienced burn care provider or a newcomer to the field, this meeting will provide you with needed information that will be immediately applicable and pertinent to all aspects of burn care—all in a casual learning environment.

To make this a comprehensive, memorable, and effective career-building experience, the forum provides a wealth of opportunities. Attendees will share each burn unit’s work-inprogress, exchange innovative projects, take part in planning initiatives, develop collegial relationships, interact with mentors, and receive the latest information through general sessions, a nurses’ breakout session, the rehabilitation workshop, poster presentations, and lectures by renowned guest speakers.

Complimenting the educational sessions will be tours of the two burn centers (adult and pediatric), exhibit hall activities, and social events that will showcase a taste of Birmingham, a progressive city that hasn’t lost its down-home friendliness, and that is proud to be the hometown of the 2003 American Idol—Ruben Studdard! From the opening session to the final awards presentation, this conference promises to be Region IV’s best ever. So get ready to learn, network, and have fun!

Sincerely,
David J. Barillo, MD – ABA Region IV Chair
Alan R. Dimick, MD – Program Chair
James M. Cross, MD, and William D. Hardin, Jr., MD – Local Hosts
