OSTEOPOROSIS “MATRIX” WORKSHOP
Monday, July 27, 2:30 - 4:30 pm
No Charge, Sign-up on Registration Form.
Linking Outcomes of Osteoporosis Care to the IOM Aims
and the ACGME Core Competencies: A Matrix Solution
Organizations, programs and physicians struggle with the competencies which are now required by the ACGME, MD Specialty Certification Boards, and the Joint Commission for credentialing. This workshop will describe how a tool called the Healthcare Matrix can help improve care of patients with osteoporosis while meeting these competency requirements. The Healthcare Matrix provides a framework analyzing care and for identifying “what was learned from this analysis and what needs to be improved”. This would be especially useful in multiple physician practices. Examples of how to use external measures of quality (and future physician report cards) as the driver of improvement will also be presented.
Osteoporosis "Matrix" Workshop Faculty
John Bingham, Vice President, Performance Improvement and Chief Quality Officer, University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX
Doris Quinn, PhD, Director, Process Improvement and Quality Education, Department of Performance Improvement, University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX
