SMA is Going Green

Great News! In continuing our commitment to join others around the globe to conserve our natural resources, SMA’s Scientific Assembly will once again be paperless.

Just as last year, we will not distribute session handouts at the meeting. However, all registered attendees will have access to handouts online before, during, and after the Assembly.

In addition to being earth-friendly, “Going Green” for the Scientific Assembly allows you access to all session handouts – not just the sessions for which you attend and it eliminates carrying around bulky syllabi at the meeting!

 

Prior to the Assembly

Approximately two (2) weeks before the meeting, visit www.sma.org/am2008 and proceed to Session Handouts. Download the materials or print them if you prefer and bring them with you to the meeting. 

 

During the Assembly

A CD-ROM of the handouts will be provided in your registration packet. (Additional CD-ROMs may be purchased for $10.00) This can be used on your laptop or taken to the Hotel’s business center for printing (fees will apply). They can also be accessed via the SMA Annual Assembly site, www.sma.org/am2008 from your laptop or a computer in the business center.

 

After the Assembly

The handouts will remain on SMA’s Annual Meeting website, www.sma.org/am2008, for two months following the Assembly.

 

Three great reasons to support SMA’s decision to go paperless

1. Syllabi will be more complete, and on-line access allows presentations and handouts to be added for your access up until the time of the meeting as received.
2. Electronic copies are a more efficient way of keeping track of handouts.  Paper brought back from meetings is sometimes misplaced or accidentally discarded.  Electronic storage is a much better way of maintaining information for later use.
3. Going Green together, we take the first step towards conserving our natural resources and making the world more environmentally friendly!
